Service

It is important that all lifting and loading equipment is kept in optimum working condition to minimise the risk of disruption and down time. Appropriate servicing intervals will depend on the type, intensity and frequency of use and the environment in which the lifting equipment is operating.

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) state that every employer “shall ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair”. Daily and pre-use checks are of vital importance and should be in addition to scheduled servicing which can be arranged through your ALEM supplier.
