ALEM recently participated in the latest meeting of the CEN Technical Committee responsible for the revision of the European standard for dock levellers, held in the Netherlands on 10 June 2026.
The meeting brought together industry experts and stakeholders from across Europe to review proposed updates to the standard and discuss key safety, operational and technical requirements affecting dock leveller design and use.
All comments on the current draft have now been considered. The next step is a review of the draft by the relevant experts and national representatives before progression to the formal review stages.
As a representative of the loading bay equipment sector, ALEM continues to play an active role in ensuring that future standards support safe, practical and effective solutions for manufacturers, installers and end users alike.
The revision work will continue over the coming months through virtual meetings and technical consultations. The next face-to-face meeting is scheduled to take place on 18–19 May 2027, with a further virtual meeting planned later in the year.
ALEM remains committed to contributing its expertise throughout the standards development process and supporting the continuous improvement of safety and performance across the loading bay industry.
